Not me, man! If it becomes more popular, the following will happen:
(a) A Standards Committee will be set up to write a set
of standards which will satisfy no one, but will be
accepted anyway.
(2) The U.S. Government will demand that all manufacturers
who want to respond to federal RFP's for computer equipment
offer the new standard.
(3) IBM will come out with its own version of Icon, which will
be much bigger and use a lot more disk space (in every way).
(4) This newsgroup will become saturated with meaningless messages
from people who ask ridiculous questions and other people who
flame them for doing so.
(5) And last, but not at all least, the Icon people at U of Ariz.
will say to hell with it and go off and do something else. And
the cycle will start over :-)
